Hello!

Dark Folio Press is an independent, digital publisher. We create original editorial content, software, books, digital oracles, and astrology widgets.  We work at the intersection of technology, mythology & folklore, to make tools for  symbolic storytelling.

I blog about curious creatures, forgotten histories, and enduring archetypes. You'll encounter Manticores, Harpies, Cyclopes,  Pope Joan, and other figures whose stories continue to echo through art, literature, and culture.

Whether you're here to read, explore, enrich your own site with astrology content, or learn more about our editorial work, welcome to Dark Folio Press!

Curious Tales Tarot

The Curious Tales Tarot is my love letter to the Hero's Journey. I lean into the archetypes at the heart of the monomyth. Each card is reimagined through instantly recognizable figures, familiar stories, and timeless moments that have echoed through mythology, folklore, literature, and popular culture for generations.

Oracle Of the Harpies

The Oracle of the Harpies literally arrived out of the blue on an actual Blue Moon. It hasn't crossed the finish line into the material world, for now it exists as a digital deck and a digital oracle. I created this deck for anyone walking through the dark night of the soul, and for those who wish to better understand the timeless cycle of Descent and Return. In this story, the Harpies are not monsters, they are guides. Drawing from mythology, numerology, and the ancient pattern of katabasis (the descent into the underworld), the deck is less about predicting the future and more about navigating the hidden landscape of the psyche. The Harpies know that healing doesn't come from looking away. It comes from descending to the place where the wound first took root, learning to recognize it, name it, and understand the stories it has been telling ever since. Only then can you begin the return, carrying with you the jewel hidden beneath the pain. Think of emotional anguish as a dragon guarding a treasure. The dragon isn't your enemy; it's a guardian standing at the threshold of work you may not yet be ready to do. The descent asks for courage, honesty, and patience because it is difficult work but it is also the path by which suffering is transformed into wisdom. The treasure was never hidden from you. It was hidden for you, until you were ready to claim it.

Beastiary & Field Guides To Myth, Magic & Monsters

You know when you make a great meal and have leftovers? Well that's sort of what this section is about. Bits and pieces of images, fragmented notes that interrupted me while busy working on other projects. Stored as art cards for future expansion.
